First, I would like to welcome our two newest members, Marilyn Johnson and Meryl Bernard, to our Club and to encourage each of you to introduce yourselves to them if you haven't met them personally yet. Second, it still isn't too late to sign up for the Christmas Party next Wednesday, just call Ken Mills. It is always a good party at the Alisal. Third, a little update on Rotary's 100th Anniversary Convention in Chicago…The registration fees are going up after December 31. Also, there are still some rooms available at the Sofitel, the main hotel for our District. The Dinner Cruise planned by our District Governor, Jan, is aboard the Odyssey Luxury cruise vessel on Lake Michigan on Monday, June 20. There are also some airline flights to Chicago on American and United Airlines for as low as $178-$198. Finally, some of the other things to see that I didn't mention before are the Sears Towers and Chicago's number one tourist attraction, Navy Pier. The triangle on Alamo Pintado, now to be known as Sunny Fields Park, has been deeded to the city of Solvang by Santa Barbara County. City Manager, Marlene Demery, member of our Club, says that the permit to build the children's playground will soon be issued.
