WELCOME TO JOHN G. GRELCK IV

Please welcome one of our newest members.
John G. Grelck IV is the first of four children, one sister and two brothers. He was born in Ohio where his father was stationed while in the Air Force. As he moved around the country (mainly between OH and CA), his family finally arrived at Vandenberg AFB back in 1986. John attended Cabrillo High School and eventually received a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Berry College in Georgia. He has now worked for AmeriTrust Capital Management, an Investment Advisor in Santa Ynez, for the past four and a half years. John grew up playing soccer, but also enjoys playing all types of sports including bowling, racquetball, and golf when he gets a chance.
If you haven't had the chance yet introduce your self to John.

LEND A HAND

R. I. President elect, John Majiyagbe of Nigeria, Rotary's first president from Africa has chosen as his theme for 2003-04. "Lend A Hand".
Outlining his four areas of focus for the year - poverty, health, literacy and the family of Rotary - the president-elect of Rotary said, "We will Lend A Hand of fellowship to all the family of Rotary."

TOLERANCE OF DIFFERENCES

Clifford L. Dochterman writes in "the ABC's of Rotary",
'Occasionally there is a temptation to criticize the laws, customs, actions, and traditions of another country, which may seem strange or contrary to our own. As members of an international organization dedicated to world understanding it behooves Rotarians to exercise restraint in judging our Rotary friends and citizens from other countries when their behavior seems unusual to us' (end quote)
This statement adopted by Rotary in 1933, is a fine interpretation of the 4 Way Test.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

I thank our past president Bob Moir for standing in for me at the February 26th meeting. We had a great speaker in Kay Kuns at the March 5th meeting. I believe the world would be a much better place if we could better understand our national, ethnic, and religious differences. Kay's journey to Cuba is a perfect example of gaining more understanding of others in the world and certainly changed my perception, or at least got me to think about my perception, of Cuba. Rotary International is a great avenue to gain better understanding.
Lets all wish Dick Brown to have a successful President Elects Training Seminar (PETS) this week. He'll come back this weekend all fired up for Rotary. Just imagine Dick Brown more fired up. It should be fun.
There's lots on the agendas coming up, Nelson Owens Golf Tournament, picnics, BBQ's, more golf, and April 5th Wednesday. Mark your calendars for April 30th our 5th Wednesday will be an evening BBQ at the Phillips.
Remember "It Can Be Done" and to "Sow The Seeds of Love"
Yours in Service,
President, Butch
