Rainbows are beautiful to look at because they are made of many different colors. They have power to make us feel happy, just by looking at them. Martin Luther King, Jr. saw that there were many different colors of people in the world. He believed that these differences could make the world a better place to live. Today we celebrate Martin Luther King's birthday because of his great work and his important message: that all people are precious and that our differences, like a rainbow, can make the world a better place. What could be at the end of a rainbow of people? A Pot of gold - or something better? Unscramble the letters to find out. Any concerns should be addressed to our club secretary Deepa Willingham. I'm happy to be back home from my European travels. I returned Saturday the 4th, got up Sunday the 5th for my usual 7:00 am tee time with the boys. Walking down the 5th fairway of the Alisal River Course I realized this was the most beautiful scenery of all my travels. We do not often look around and appreciate where we live. We're in heaven and I ask everyone to stop for a moment and look around and smell the roses, if you will. Happy New Year to all. We had a great first Rotary meeting of the year with an enthusiastic speaker, Monica Christine Nandwani. Thanks to Tia Deepa for bringing her to Rotary. An additional big thanks to Greg Pensa for his idea to invite the widows of our past Rotarians. I have received great praise and appreciation from all of them for including them in our Christmas event. I hope we do this every year. Go out and Sow those Seeds of Love.
